Blast Cleaning
Blasting involves the use of compressed air combined
with an abrasive medium forcefully directed at a
surface through a jet nozzle. The high speed
abrasive particles remove contaminants from the
surface. It is used for cleaning and surface
preparation. It can be used for hardwood, metal,
steel, brickwork, concrete and stone and effectively
removes paint, rust, dust, air pollution, staining,
dirt and debris. It is commonly used to prepare a
surface for painting, varnishing or coating.
We have over 25 years experience in blast cleaning. We
offer shot blasting, grit blasting, wet blasting,
dry blasting and dust free blasting. We use all
inert abrasives and all steel surfaces are prepared
to a minimum standard SA2.5. We provide a
comprehensive service with totally self-contained
operations carried out on-site, we prepare, mask and
protect prior to blast cleaning and if required we
can remove all debris waste from site with our own
waste carriers license.
Blast cleaning is used extensively for
refurbishments, it can be used to clean and remove
rust from metal and prevent any rust re-appearing.
It can be used on wood to “stress” or clean. It can
be used on brickwork, concrete and stone to remove
weathering effects, paint and graffiti.
Blast Cleaning can be combined with Confined Space
works such as Tank Cleaning, Concrete Repairs to
exposed reinforcement and Working at Height for
refurbishments to tall structures and buildings.
